About Course

This Grade 11 Mathematics Term 2 course focuses on circle geometry, analytical geometry and transformed algebraic and trigonometric functions.

Learners prove circle theorems, solve riders, derive equations of straight lines, investigate gradients of curves and sketch functions with multiple parameters.

What Will You Learn?

 • ATP-aligned lessons, guided practice, quizzes, revision activities and formal-assessment preparation.

Course Content

Circle Geometry Foundations

Use tangent-radius and chord properties and establish the fundamental circle theorems.

Angles and Cyclic Quadrilaterals

Apply centre-and-circumference angle results, same-segment angles and supplementary opposite angles of cyclic quadrilaterals.

Tangents and Circle Riders

Apply equal tangents and tangent-chord theorems and their converses to solve riders.

Analytical Geometry Review

Revise distance, gradient, midpoint, and parallel and perpendicular lines.

Equations and Inclination of Straight Lines

Derive line equations through points or parallel/perpendicular to given lines and use gradient as tan of the inclination angle.

Transformed Algebraic Functions

Investigate the effects of a, p and q on quadratic, hyperbolic and exponential graphs.

Gradient of a Curve

Estimate average gradient and develop an intuitive understanding of gradient at a point.

Transformed Trigonometric Functions

Investigate amplitude, period and horizontal shift and sketch sine, cosine and tangent graphs with at most two parameters.

Term 2 Assignment, Revision and Midyear Examination

Complete the assignment, revise Terms 1 and 2 and prepare for the midyear examination.
